Born Bedford County, Pennsylvania on 23 September, 1844. Served in Civil War twice, last time with Company I, 78th PA Vol. Infantry.
Married Isabel Exline 8 November 1883. He died 17 February, 1916. His wife is buried next to him but has no stone.
