This stone is next to the stones of James & Eleanor Hampton. It is very worn and difficult to read. Considering the age of Eleanor in the 1860s it is possible that they are not the parents of Charles. Another researcher has suggested that he may have been the son of James Hampton and Mary who moved to Michigan abt 1877. They suggest the stone reads: death date is a 9 rather than a 5 and the mother might be M instead of E. Since James and Eleanor had a son James this stone is for a child of his.
