Monsignor Łęgowski was the son of Louis (Ludwig) and Catherine (Katarzyna) Rozanska. He was pastor of St. Anthony parish, and served the parish in the capacity of either pastor or assistant pastor over 48 years. Ordained in 1912, he served St. Anthony's and St. Joseph's Church in Marblehead, as well as helped to found St. Casimir's Church in Fremont in 1915.

An army chaplain during World War I. Named Monsignor in 1938 and served the diocese of Toledo as an advisor to the bishop and a member of the diocesan marriage tribunal. Msgr. Łęgowski was also a member of the American Legion and a founder of the legion's Wroblewski Post in Toledo. Additionally, he was a member of the advisory board of the Toledo Area Council of Catholic Men. Buried with his parents and brother, Joseph.
