Shaker (Turtlecreek Twp.) Cemetery
Warren County,
Ohio

Obituary:
The oldest Shaker at Union Village in the person of Margaret Sawyer, passed away Monday, March 20th, 1905. She was born in New York April 29th, 1817, and joined the North Union community (near Cleveland) in 1832. In this community during a period of thirty years, she was an Office Sister. In 1889 she was transferred to the Watervaleit Society, and to the North Family, Union Village, in 1900. She was of a cheerful and amiable disposition, and during her long life never was the cause of complaint. She was devoted to the cause she had espoused and led a blameless life. In old age she had the face of a child, which was almost wholly devoid of wrinkles. During her last sickness she was peacefully resigned, and made no complaints to those who watched over her. She was always respected and loved by those who knew her.
