Linda Lu (Pitsenbarger) Paisley died in her sleep during the night of Sunday, February 6, 2005 at her home in Sun City, Arizona. She was born in Houston, Ohio on December 19, 1940 to Grace Mae (Brannan) and Isaac Leonard Luther Pitsenbarger. She graduated from Houston High School and later attended Miami (Ohio) University, where she met Robert Nelson Paisley. They were married August 29, 1960 in Houston Congregational Church. Linda was the first paid secretary at Houston High School. Like her mother she became a teacher, educating third and fourth graders at Hardin and Pleasant Hill schools. Linda and her husband lived for eight years on a farm hear Bradford, Ohio with their three children: Julia Grace, Joseph Robert and James Christopher. The family moved to Billings, Montana in 1978 where Linda worked as an administrative assistant at the non-profit Montana Institute for the Arts Foundation. Linda later moved with her job to Bozeman, Montana. While living in Bozeman, Linda became a published author of three wholesome romances for New York's Avalon Books. Linda always credited her mother with instilling a lifelong love of the printed word. Linda retired to live in Sun City, Arizona in 2003. While caring for her beloved Siamese cat Sylvia, she began a historical fiction novel about her great great grandmother from Houston. Linda was a member of the Romance Writers of America and the Sun City west Writers Group. She is survived by her daughter Julie Paisley of Avondale, Arizona; sons: Joe Paisley of Twin Falls, Idaho and Jim Paisley (Amy Pearson) of Clear Lake, Iowa; brothers: Rex Pitsenbarger (Ruth) of Piqua, Ohio and Clyde Pitsenbarger of Bradford, Ohio; sisters: Velura Cowan (William) of Houston, Ohio and Phyllis Feragne (Ted) of Tucson, Arizona. Other survivors are in-laws: Bernadine Pitsenbarger of Piqua, Ohio; Lois Pitsenbarger of Houston, Ohio; Dale Helman of Houston, Ohio; and Don Meyer of Houston, Ohio. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends in Arizona, Montana and Ohio. Linda was preceded in death by her husband Bob; sisters: Nona Pitsenbarger, Lorna Kiehl, Jeanette Helman and Onda Meyer; brothers: Roy Pitsenbarger and Chuck Pitsenbarger; and in-laws: Joan Lavey Pitsenbarger and Herschel Kiehl. Viewing time was 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2005 at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Avenue, Sidney, Ohio 45365. The home can be contacted at 937-492-5101.
